As we look forward to 2025, let’s take a look back at the three North American winners of the Big Brother franchise in Canada, Mexico, and the US in 2024, and review who they are and how they won their shows.

Big Brother Canada season 12—Bayleigh Pelham

Bayleigh Pelham is a 35-year-old bartender from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and the proud bisexual won the 12th season of Big Brother Canada, beating Anthony Douglas by a 6 to 1 vote on Day 69. The season saw 12 new Houseguests and two All-Stars compete for the grand prize.

Douglas was one of the two returning All-Stars, and Bayleigh’s win was the first by a woman since Big Brother Canada 6 (Paris Atashnak) and the fourth in the 12-season history. It was also the first time a new player defeated a returning Houseguest.

“I want to see a powerful female win this game. It’s been too long,” Bayleigh said in her pre-show interview.

Bayleigh took home the largest prize in Big Brother Canada history ($200,000) as well as the following prizes:

  • $10,000 cash
  • $10,000 from Tonybet
  • $10,000 from Philips Sonicare Oral Care
  • A brand-new wardrobe courtesy of WINNERS
  • A year’s with of Skip (year’s with of free food delivery from “Skip the Dishes”)
  • A $10,000 Samsung Galaxy Prize Pack
  • $10,000 from Endy
  • A Cuban Beach Vacation from Sunwing
  • A 2024 INFINITI QX60 SUV

Big Sisters Alliance and Team Anthony member Bayleigh won just one Head of Household (Week 9), one Veto (Week 6), and she was nominated three times (Week 3, Week 7, Day 69).

Global and Corus Entertainment announced on June 27, 2024, that Big Brother Canada was indeed canceled with Corus citing audience support, sponsors, and the licensing and Production costs all being factors in the decision.

But the ending of Live Feeds and the ability for Big Brother in the United States to easily be able to watch helped doom this once great show. Like many countries that have revived the Big Brother franchise in their nations, expect Big Brother Canada to be revived somewhere.

Las Casa de los Famosos México season 2—Mario Bezares

Premiering on July 21, 2024, and ending on September 29, 2024, the Mexican version of Big Brother called Las Casa de los Famosos México 2 (The Houses of the Famous Mexico 2) saw 65-year-old Mario Bezares after more than 39 million viewers voted.

After 71 days, the comedian, actor, and TV presenter from México City was announced the winner as he beat out runner-up Karime Pindter and 13 other celebrities living in the house.

Bezares has 42 Nomination points and was nominated 9 times (Week 1, Week 3, Week 4 Week 5, Week 7, Week 8, Week 9, Week 10, and Day 67 and was never saved. He was a member of Team Mar who saw all five members make the final five on Season 2.

Brigitte Bozzo ended up in fifth place, Arath de la Torre finished in fourth place, and Gala Montes came in third place. Bezares became the first male winner in the Endemol Shine Boomdog-produced show after women won the first four seasons of Las Casa de los Famosos México which aired on Telemundo in the US.

Bezares won a cool 4 million pesos ($196,968) for his efforts on the reality TV competition show which aired live 24/7 and could be seen by subscribers of Vix Premium streaming service in México.

Big Brother US season 26—Chelsie Baham

The youngest (27) of the three North American Big Brother winners in 2024, Chelsie Baham, a non-profit director from Rancho Cucamonga, California defeated Makensy Manbeck in the Final 2 on Day 90 by a unanimous 7 to 0 vote to win the $750,000 grand prize on Big Brother 26.

Chelsie became the first woman to play a Perfect Game—no eviction votes against and to win the show by a unanimous vote—in Big Brother US history. Her two closest allies, Makensy and Cam Sullivan-Brown finished in second place and third place respectively.

During her stay at the famous house located on CBS Studio Center Stage 18 in the Studio City district of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, Chelsie won four HoHs (Week 2, Week 8, Day 73, Week 12) and was nominated twice (Week 5 and Week 13.

Chelsie also had one Arena win (Week 5) and true BB fans will remember she started off the season ineligible to win her safety in the game by not being able to play in the HoH and PoV competition when she and Cedric Hodges were informed by AINSLEY in Episode 2 that they lost in the Downgrade Competition and were made mascots.
