These 7 Dancing with the Stars pros are hoping to take home their first Mirrorball in season 33
By Cody Schultz
A new season of Dancing with the Stars is underway on ABC and the returning pros are eager to help their celebrity partner waltz their way to victory to secure the Mirrorball Trophy. For several of this season’s returning pros, they’re hoping to add to their existing Mirrorball Trophy collection as the season features several past winners.
Season 33 also features a group of pros who are hungry to help their celebrities win it all and finally take home a Mirrorball Trophy of their own, by winning the show for the first time as a pro dancer. In fact, over half of this season’s pros are looking to take home their first win this season!
Of the 13 pros competing this season on Dancing with the Stars, seven pros are looking to win for the first time on the show including Brandon Armstrong, Rylee Arnold, Sasha Farber, Pasha Pashkov, Gleb Savchenko, Ezra Sosa, and Britt Stewart. Unfortunately for Pashkov and Sosa, their Mirrorball dreams will have to wait another year as the pair’s celebrity partners were eliminated in the first elimination of the season with Anna Delvey and Tori Spelling going home in Week 2 during a double elimination.
This means there are just five pros competing as part of the season 33 cast who are hoping to win their first Mirrorball, and most of them have a pretty good chance of taking it all this season. After all, many of these pros have come close to winning the show in the past!
Brandon Armstrong
Brandon Armstrong joined the Dancing with the Stars cast in season 27 and has appeared in 7 seasons since making his debut. His strongest finish on the show came in season 32 when he and his partner Lele Pons finished in eighth place, but Armstrong is hoping to cha-cha his way to victory with Disney star and actress Chandler Kinney.
Rylee Arnold
Rylee Arnold is only in her second season of Dancing with the Stars, but she’s hoping to take home her first Mirrorball with help from Olympic Bronze-medal gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik. In her debut season last year, Arnold quickly left her mark on the ballroom helping Harry Jowsey make it all the way to a sixth-place finish.
Sasha Farber
Since joining the cast in season 17, Sasha Farber has been a mainstay on the show appearing as a pro in 12 seasons. He’s come close to winning the Mirrorball on a few occasions, making it to the finale night twice where he finished third with former figure skater Tonya Harding in Dancing with the Stars: Athletes, and third place in season 28 with Fifth Harmony singer Ally Brooks. With The Bachelorette’s Jenn Tran as his partner in season 33, this could finally be the year Farber takes home a win.
Gleb Savchenko
Fourth has been the magic number for Gleb Savchenko since joining Dancing with the Stars in season 16. During his 12 seasons as a pro, Savchenko has led three partners to a fourth-place finish including Jane Kramer (Season 23), Lauren Alaina (Season 28), and Shangela (Season 32). Could model Brooks Nader be the one to help Savchenko break through with a first-place finish finally?
Britt Stewart
Britt Stewart joined the pro lineup in season 29 and has been a mainstay ever since, appearing in five seasons of the show. Her best finish came in season 31 when she placed fifth with actor Daniel Durant. The odds seem stacked against her and her season 33 partner Eric Roberts, so it’s unlikely she’ll walk away with her first Mirrorball but we all love an underdog story, so don’t count Roberts out entirely!
Could this be the season one of these pros finally takes home their first Mirrorball? We’ll have to see how the season unfolds this fall!
