Big Brother is bringing back a season 26 twist thanks to the fans

Expecting the unexpected is the official motto of Big Brother. It’s the one thing that we always hear when it comes to what to potentially expect during a season or even in a single episode of Big Brother.

In season 26, the theme of the season was all about AI. And it played a very big part in what went down throughout the season. So it probably comes as no surprise that at least one twist from BB26 will be making a comeback in season 27.

Jankie, the junior artificial intelligence entity, took over week nine of the Big Brother 26 competition. He basically kept the entire cast in the backyard for a week of "fun" that none of the cast will ever forget. But at the end of his week, the main AI system tried to eliminate the competition. It was a sad moment for the adorable junior AI.

That being said, in the final moments of the season after the winner was announced, we all learned that Jankie had been restored to all of his former glory, much to the excitement of fans.

Jankie is set to make a comeback in Big Brother 27

It turns out that the production team has decided to listen to the fans, and they are going to bring Jankie back for another season of fun. It’s exciting news, but it does leave us wondering what this means for the next season of competitors.

According to Collider, two of the executive producers for the series told Entertainment Weekly that the junior AI will definitely be used in a different manner in the next season. So the next time we see him, he likely will not be locking people in the backyard. What did they say about the return of Jankie? It’s exactly what we expected — “expect the unexpected,” says executive producer Allison Grodner.

“The original creative for Janky did not have him coming back to life,” executive producer Rich Meehan revealed. “But when we pitched the whole season out, it was like, ‘You're going to do what to Jankie?’”

“Everyone's like, ‘Wait a minute, you might need to bring him back,’” Meehan added.

Previously, we had said that we would love some of the BB26 twists to stick around. We didn’t know that this would be the twist they decided to keep. However, we don’t really know how they’re going to utilize Jankie. And it really sounds like production doesn't know yet either.

It should be interesting to see how things play out on Big Brother in season 27. But of course, we have a ways to go before we even know who will be a part of the cast.
