The Traitors is back for its third season in the US, and that means a new batch of competitors have entered the castle with a chance at winning up to $250,000. And this season, it seems as if things are getting shaken up in the castle. Of course, we would expect nothing less from Alan Cumming and The Traitors.

Spoilers for the first three episodes of The Traitors Season 3 ahead

It was an interesting premiere episode for The Traitors, as we quickly learned that not every player was entering the game in the same way as the majority of the players. For Rob Mariano, otherwise known to Survivor fans as Boston Rob, his introduction to the game was not a smooth one.

In fact, it seemed like he wouldn't even get a chance to actually play the game after being denied entry by his fellow competitors. But there was no way that The Traitors would ever let that happen, so while he may not have joined the competition for the selection of the traitors, the first murder or even the getting to know you moments, he wasn't left out in the cold for long.

Who was chosen as traitors for Season 3 of The Traitors?

But who did Alan choose as his traitors? That would be Danielle Reyes of Big Brother, Carolyn Wiger of Survivor, and Bob The Drag Queen of RuPaul's Drag Race. But this is a game of twists and turns and while they may have been the first traitors chosen, they were in for a surprise of their own.

After committing their first murder, we got a better feel for how these three would work as traitors. And while it was interesting, things got shaken up when it was revealed that three more players would be entering the game, and these three players were actually part of the money earning challenge for the second day (and episode).

Of course, Boston Rob was one of those players getting added back into the fold. But he was also joined by two icons of their own reality competitions: Derrick Levasseur of Big Brother and Wes Bergmann of The Challenge.

Before entering the game, however, Alan let Rob know that when he entered the game, he would not be joining as a faithful, but instead would be a traitor. This made Boston Rob our fourth traitor for the season. It was an interesting choice, especially in light of the other two men joining alongside of him.

My thoughts on who was chosen as traitors for Season 3

When Alan Cumming made his first choices for traitors at the roundtable, I was actually a bit surprised by his choices. And yet, for some reason, it made perfect sense for him to choose Carolyn, Danielle, and Bob the Drag Queen. However, it also didn't feel like we had enough spice in the lineup.

This group of traitors feels rather chaotic and like they will ultimately struggle to work together. In fact, we saw it pretty early on, as it seemed like Bob and Danielle didn't really listen to Carolyn when it came to her thoughts on how to play the game.

With these three as our traitors, it actually felt like we needed a fourth voice in the room. So when Alan revealed that Boston Rob would be entering the game as a traitor, I was thrilled. I think he will make a great traitor. I think he knows how to play the long game and get people to trust him, even if they really do know that they shouldn't.

Honestly, he already seemed to have a lot to bring to the table as a traitor, even before he joined the squad. Heading into the game, he seemed to get a decent read on the people he would be playing with (and against) and he already took steps to form relationships and alliances outside of the people he already knew in the game.

Personally, I think these four players were the perfect choices for traitors. And I think they might have what it takes to make it through a few banishments without too much harm. The biggest problem is going to be keeping everyone working together considering how big all of these personalities can be on their own.

Season 3 of The Traitors is going to be an interesting one, especially with how the traitors have already started taking shots at certain groups and alliances.
