Complete list of every MasterChef US winner & their runners-up

MasterChef is a cooking-based competition reality show, with season one originally debuting on July 27, 2010, and the most recent season 14 coming to a close on September 18, 2024. The competition show is currently judged by celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay and Aaron Sanchez, alongside celebrity restauranteur Joe Bastianich; with former judges consisting of Graham Elliot, Christina Tosi, and a variety of guest judges. The judges mentor talented home cooks, and over the course of the season, assist them on their journey to improve to a professional level.

MasterChef seasons begin with a try-out round of pre-selected contestants that will typically fit into the specific theme of that season, creating dishes in order to impress the judges and earn an apron, signifying a spot in the competition.

From that point on, contestants are given specific parameters along with a time limit around the dishes they create, with the home cook that presents the weakest dish being eliminated on a weekly basis; culminating in the finale, where the finalists must create a full menu for the judges, who in turn choose the winner of MasterChef. The first six seasons consisted of a final two, with season seven on having a final three. The winner of each season earns the title of MasterChef, a trophy, and a $250,000 grand prize.
