The cast for season 3 of Peacock’s hit psychological reality TV show The Traitors has been released, and like the first two seasons of the Alan Cumming hosted show, two players from past casts of Big Brother (American) have again been chosen.
This time around at Ardross Castle in scenic Scottish Highlands, 21 players will compete to win the cash prize of up to $250,000 after 20 contestants were in the first season in 2023 on The Traitors season 1 and 22 contestants went in on The Traitors season 2 in 2024.
In that first season, a player who actually ended up as a HouseGuest on Big Brother 25, Cirie Fields, won the show and the $250,000, but the 51-year-old Jersey City, New Jersey native was chosen for the show from her stint on Survivor: Panama.
Cirie was chosen as one of the show’s first two Traitors along with Christian de la Torre and Big Brother All-Stars 2 winner Cody Calafiore. But no contestant chosen to be on The Traitors from the US version of Big Brother has ever made it past Episode 8 although none of those four was banished, murdered, or walked out before Week 5.
Let’s look at how these past four Big Brother Houseguests did in the first two seasons of The Traitors, who the two are that were chosen for The Traitors season 3 cast, and what we can expect from them in the American version of this unique reality TV show.
Big Brother Houseguests on The Traitors season 1
In the first season of The Traitors, two past winners of Big Brother were chosen to play with Rachel Reilly (Season 13 winner) and Cody Calafiore (Season 22 winner) members of the 20-person cast, won by the aforementioned future Big Brother Houseguest, Cirie Fields.
While Rachel was not chosen as a Traitor, Cody did get the chance to play the game as a traitor for several weeks before being eliminated.
Cody was banished in Week 7 with Rachel being banished a show later in Week 8. Rachel has lasted the longest in The Traitors of the four Big Brother contestants over the first two seasons.
Big Brother Houseguests on The Traitors season 2
The second season of The Traitors saw one past Big Brother winner and icon competing along with another one of the icons of the American show. Big Brother 6 winner Dan Gheesling was chosen and was also selected as one of the first two Traitors in season 2 along with Real Housewives of Atlanta and Married To Medicine heavyweight Phaedra Parks.
Janelle Pierzina, a Houseguest in Big Brother seasons 6, 7, 14, and 22 and the former record-holder for the most individual competition wins in a season (9), played in The Traitors 2 as a Faithful, but like castmate Dan, was banished relatively early on.
Dan made it to episode 6 before Phaedra helped banish her fellow Traitor, while Janelle was banished a week earlier in Episode 5. So the four Big Brother contestants on The Traitors have been bounced in Weeks 5, 6, 7, and 8.
Former The Real World: Las Vegas and The Challenge competitor Trishelle Cannatella and The Real World: Paris and The Challenge icon CT Tamburello were the two winners of the season which saw another Big Brother legend, Dr. Will, host one of the challenges.
Who are the 20 contestants on The Traitors season 3?

Britney and Danielle on BB Reindeer Games
This won’t be the first time that Big Brother legends Britney and Danielle will be competing against each other on a Reality TV show as the two were both members of the first cast of Big Brother: Reindeer Games in December of 2023.
Danielle, who finished as the runner-up to Lisa Donahue on Big Brother season 3, was the seventh-place finisher in the six-episode, Christmas-themed Big Brother: Reindeer Games while Britney, who finished in fourth place in Big Brother season 12 and in eighth place in Big Brother season 14, was the fifth-place finisher in BBRG.
Nicole Franzel-Arroyo technically became the first American Big Brother HouseGuest to win two shows when she won BBRG after capturing season 18 and becoming the first woman to ever defeat a man in the Final 2 of the show. The then 31-year-old Ubly, Michigan resident also defeated two men in the BBRG Finale, beating out Frankie Grande and Xavier Prather.
Britney’s chances to win The Traitors season 3
Britney was Britney Haynes when she first played on Big Brother but now she is Britney Godwin and it may be hard for the 36-year-old Tulsa, Oklahoma resident to survive—as a Traitor or as a Faithful—with so many women from Bravo shows in the cast.
Last season, the women from the Bravo series’ seemed to all vote together, eliminating many contestants from the castle, and with four Real Housewives franchise members and one Summer House girl representing Bravo, and four players from Survivor, Britney may have a hard time finding the right alliance members or strategy.
Britney won the Fan Favorite vote and $25,000 on Big Brother, but she may be one of the first seven to 10 out and fall in that tight Big Brother players' window of being banished between Week 5 and Week 8. Her social and physical games will really be challenged on The Traitors season 3 and it would be a big surprise if she was in the final four remaining.
Odds Britney Will be Chosen or Asked to be a Traitor: 30/1
Odds Britney Will Win The Traitors 3: 22/1
Danielle’s chances to win The Traitors season 3
At age 52, it may be hard for the Big Brother 3 and Big Brother 7: All-Stars mother of two to navigate some of the physical challenges in this game although the ability to be cunning and form alliances should benefit the San Francisco resident.
On Big Brother 3, “The Black Widow” Danielle finished in second place while on Big Brother 7, she finished in sixth place after being perceived as a dangerous player by the house. She had one Head of Household (HoH) and one Power of Veto (PoV) win in both of those seasons.
Like Britney, expect a possible Bravo voting bloc to be a problem for Danielle, and if these two became allies because of their Big Brother pedigrees, no one would be surprised but they would both face an uphill climb.
Real estate manager Danielle may end up going a little farther in the game than Britney as she may offend less people early on, and odds are better she will be chosen as an initial Traitor or asked to be one during the game, but with Alan Cumming choosing Dan as one of the two Traitors to start season 2, it’s hard to imagine another BB alum getting that nod again this coming season.
Odds Danielle Will be Chosen or Asked to be a Traitor: 8/1
Odds Danielle Will Win The Traitors 3: 7/1
Where and when to watch The Traitors season 3
We can expect The Traitors season 3 to premiere in January of 2025 as both season 1 (January 12, 2023) and season 2 (January 12, 2024) came out on the exact same day. Like its UK counterpart (BBC), The Traitors is filmed in the Scottish Highlands at the scenic and majestic Andross Castle in Alness, Scotland some 39 miles north of Loch Ness.
The only way to see The Traitors is by subscribing to the NBC streaming service Peacock where you can watch it immediately when new episodes are released on Thursdays at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT/6 pm PT.
The success of the Emmy Award-winning The Traitors US version has been so popular that Peacock has already renewed it for season 4 and season 5, which will make loyal Big Brother fans wonder what two (or more) HouseGuests will be asked to be on in future seasons.
Fans of Big Brother 26 Houseguests Tucker Des Lauriers and Angela Murray have already clamored for these two entertaining players' inclusion in this Studio Lambert-produced show and it would be very hard to disagree with Big Brother 24 winner Taylor Hale, another pretty good choice.
