To qualify for this list, the twist simply has to have shock value. If it had never been done before on any edition of the show, fantastic. If it is still talked about today whether that be on the show or by the fans, that helps its case even more. Number 2 on our list is Canada being given HOH in Big Brother 2.

No. 2: Canada is given HOH

For the first 4 weeks of Big Brother Canada 2 the First Five alliance consisting of Andrew Gordon, Arlie Shaban, Sabrina Abbate, Sarah Miller, and Kenny Brain had been dominating the game. Then, things changed. In a twist, Canada was given the HOH. Fans got to vote for two people to be nominated for eviction. If one of the nominees came down through the POV, Canada got to name the replacement nominee as well.

Canada nominated Andrew and Sabrina for eviction, wanting to split up the First Five. Jon Pardy won the POV and chose not to use it. Arlie saw this as the perfect opportunity to break away from the First Five and began working with Neda Kalantar, Jon, and Adel Elseri. At the live eviction, Andrew was evicted 7-2 vote.

This checks in as the 2nd most shocking twist because fans had simply never been given this much power before in Big Brother. Not only that, but it had to be a real shock to the contestants to be nominated by their country. I can only imagine how awful that would feel. Additionally, this twist drastically changed the course of the game.
