Why Emmett Blois Should Return to Big Brother Canada

With Big Brother Canada 8 on the horizon, we decided to look back at previous seasons. One of the first things typically on the forefront of fans’ minds is returning players. So, we decided to make a list of players we would like to see return for a future season of Big Brother Canada.

The criteria are simple: you can only have played once and not won the show. It could also just be someone the author liked, thought was a good player, could’ve gone down as a legend if not for a twist, or someone who simply needs a shot at redemption. This entry looks at why Emmett Blois from Big Brother Canada 1 should return.

Why Emmett Blois should return to Big Brother Canada

Emmett was the original mastermind of Big Brother Canada. After being nominated week 1 by HOH Suzette Amaya, Emmett was able to control the game masterminding a vast majority of the evictions up until his own at the final 3 along with his showmance, Jillian MacLaughlin.

He also performed quite well in the competitions. Emmett was able to win 5 competitions (3 POVs and 2 HOHs). He was also disqualified from an additional 3 competitions. Unfortunately, Emmett was done in by a couple of factors: the jury buyback twist, Dan Gheesling come into the house for a sleep over, and for some reason choosing to evict Talla Rejaei instead of Gary Levy at the final 4.

The jury buyback twist saw Canada vote Gary back into the house when there were 4 left, so his addition made it a final 5 2.0. Dan visited the house for a sleep over on Day 59 and gave game advice to all 5 remaining houseguests. Dan’s advice is more or less what caused Gary to turn on Emmett. Before Dan’s visit, Gary was going to stay loyal. After, Gary knew Emmett had to go when at the first opportunity.

At the final 4, Jillian won HOH and nominated Gary alongside Talla for eviction. Emmett won the POV that week and chose not to use it. At the live eviction, Emmett decided to evict Talla. Gary wound up defeating Jillian and Emmett at the final HOH competition. Here, he took the opportunity to evict Emmett.

Emmett should return to Big Brother Canada simply because he is one of the best players to never win the show. It is a close race between him and Tim Dormer for that title. Emmett’s strategic, social, and competition abilities were simply amazing to watch unfold. I was actually very surprised that Emmett didn’t return for Big Brother Canada 5 when they did a mix of returnees and vets.
