With 21 seasons and 3 spin off version of Big Brother in the books, we decided to take a look back at Big Brother history. Now, we’ve decided to take a look back at the 5 most memorable blindsides in the show’s history. This will include the Celebrity and Over the Top version of the show.

To qualify for this list, this has to be a blindside that Big Brother fans would remember. It could also be a blindside that is constantly talked about in some way, good or bad. It could also be that this moment made history in some fashion. Checking in at No. 2 is Dan Gheesling blindsiding Shane Meaney in Big Brother 14.

No. 2: Shane Meaney gets blindsided

This plan had been a week or so in the making. After Frank Eudy was finally evicted in the front end of week 8’s double eviction Dan targeted Ian Terry for being the biggest threat on the back end. However, this plan was foiled when Ian won the POV. Ian then won HOH in week 9 and Dan shifted his target to Shane for being the next biggest threat.

Ian nominated Shane alongside Jenn Arroyo for eviction. However, Shane won the POV and unknowingly foiled Dan’s plan in the process.

At the final 4, Danielle won HOH and was in the best position of anyone in the house. She had a showmance with Shane and tight alliance with Dan. Dan knew this and wanted to get rid of Shane to secure himself a spot in the final 2 (he was also tight with Ian) and get rid of who he saw as the biggest threat.

Dan first convinced Danielle to put himself up alongside Ian so that he could lull Shane into a false sense of security. Dan knew that Shane would do what Danielle wanted and Danielle would do what he wanted if this scenario happened. Danielle did as Dan wanted and put him and Ian on the block.

Danielle then won the POV that week and wasn’t going to use it. However, Dan had one last trick up his sleeve. Dan was able to convince Danielle to take him off the block on the condition that he would evict Ian. At the live eviction, Danielle used the POV to save Dan. This meant Shane was the replacement nominee. Moments later, Dan completed his master plan by evicting Shane, blindsiding Shane and Danielle.

This is easily one of the most shocking blindsides in Big Brother history. Despite the warning signs, Danielle never saw this coming. Since he volunteered to go on the block, Shane obviously didn’t see it coming either. The reaction on Danielle’s face was priceless too. Her jaw looked like it was going to hit the floor. Even Ian was shocked by Dan’s decision. All he could do was keeping repeating “what?”
