With 21 seasons and 3 spin off version of Big Brother in the books, we decided to take a look back at Big Brother history. Now, we’ve decided to take a look back at the 5 most memorable blindsides in the show’s history. This will include the Celebrity and Over the Top version of the show.

To qualify for this list, this has to be a blindside that Big Brother fans would remember. It could also be a blindside that is constantly talked about in some way, good or bad. It could also be that this moment made history in some fashion. Checking in at No. 4 is Austin Matelson getting blindsided with no shoes on.

No. 4: Austin Matelson gets blindsided with no shoes on

It is week 12 of Big Brother 17 and there are only 5 left in the game: Steve Moses, John “Johnny Mac” McGuire, Vanessa Rousso, Liz Nolan, and Austin. Of the 5, there were 2 pairs in Johnny Mac and Steve and the showmance of Liz and Austin. Austin and Liz were also in an alliance with Vanessa. Additionally, Austin had only been nominated one time up to that point (week 11). He had also won a few competitions along the way.

When Vanessa won HOH, things seemed to be looking good for Austin. However, Vanessa was looking to take a shot at Austin and Liz to better her position in the game. So, she tried to get information from Steve to put Liz and Austin back on the block. However, Steve didn’t give her anything. As a result, Vanessa nominated Steve and Johnny Mac for eviction, with the intention of targeting Johnny Mac.

Johnny Mac killed Vanessa’s plan by winning the POV. At the POV ceremony, Johnny Mac used the veto on himself and Vanessa named Austin the replacement nominee. At the live eviction, the vote came back 1-1. As a result, Vanessa had to break the tie. With her tie-breaking vote, Vanessa chose to evict Austin, blindsiding him and Liz.

This is easily one of the most satisfying blindsides of all time. People didn’t particularly like Austin to begin with so seeing him get evicted after being so confident was an awesome moment. Also, did we mention he wasn’t wearing shoes? You know someone got blindsided real good when they weren’t wearing shoes at the live eviction.
