With the decade nearly over, we decided to take a look back at every season of Big Brother we had this decade. In our look back, we decided to rank our 6 dumbest moves of the decade.

With the 2010s nearly over, we decided to reflect on every season of Big Brother that took place this decade. We knew that several incredibly dumb moves had been made over the years. With this in mind, we decided to rank the 6 dumbest moves of the decade. This will include both the Celebrity and Over the Top versions of Big Brother. Our 2nd dumbest move is Danielle Murphree using the POV on Dan Gheesling, leading to her showmance, Shane Meaney’s eviction.

No. 2: Danielle uses the POV on Dan, leading to her showmance, Shane’s eviction (Big Brother 14)

We’re at the final 4 of Big Brother 14. Our final 4 is Danielle, Shane, Dan, and Ian Terry. Of these 4, Danielle is in the pole position to make the final 2. She is in a showmance with Shane and a tight alliance with Dan. All she needs to do is get rid of Ian to ensure she makes the final 2.

Danielle starts the week off well by winning the final 4 HOH Competition. She then nominates Ian and Dan for eviction, with the intention of evicting Ian. Danielle also wins the POV that week and things are looking really good for her. However, Dan has one last trick up his sleeve.

Dan wants Shane out because he feels Shane would be the likeliest to beat him at the final 3 HOH Competition and that Shane wouldn’t take Dan to the final 2. So, Dan talks to Danielle about using the POV on him and letting him evict Ian, getting the blood on his hands instead of Shane. Danielle and Shane agree to this plan.

At the POV ceremony, Danielle uses the POV on Dan as planned. This means Shane is now the replacement nominee by default. Dan then shocks everyone in the house by evicting Shane.

Ian then wins the final HOH. Knowing how many bridges Dan has burned over the course of the game, Ian chooses to evict Danielle. Ian ends up beating Dan in the finals by a vote of 6-1.

Where to begin with this one? First of all, never be okay with going on the block. There is a 50/50 chance you are going to go home if you go on the block. Secondly, as a wise man from Survivor once said, “stick to the plan”. Unless you are in a showmance, you shouldn’t trust anyone like this in a final 4 situation. Danielle knew the spot she was in and she totally ruined it by changing her plan.

Had Danielle just kept nominations the same, she had Dan and Shane both wanting to take her to the final 2. Instead, she had to settle for 3rd place.
