By Tim Gross
With the decade nearly over, we decided to take a look back at every season of Big Brother we had this decade. In our look back, we decided to rank our 6 dumbest moves of the decade.
With the 2010s nearly over, we decided to reflect on every season of Big Brother that took place this decade. We knew that several incredibly dumb moves had been made over the years. With this in mind, we decided to rank the 6 dumbest moves of the decade. This will include both the Celebrity and Over the Top versions of Big Brother. Our 3rd dumbest move is Ovi Kabir telling members of Gr8ful he knew about Gr8ful and then revealing his Nightmare Power leading to his eviction.
No. 3: Ovi Kabir tells members of Gr8ful he knew about Gr8ful and then reveals his Nightmare Power leading to his eviction
It is week 1 of Big Brother 21. Christie Murphy is HOH. An alliance of 8 known as Gr8ful has taken control of the house. Members of this alliance are Christie, Jack Matthews, Tommy Bracco, Jackson Michie, Holly Allen, Analyse Talavera, Nick Maccarone, and Isabella “Bella” Wang. Christie nominated Kathryn “Kat” Dunn and Cliff Hogg III for eviction.
A twist called the Whacktivity Comp is introduced. The winner of each Whacktivity Competition will receive a secret advantage. Ovi won the first Whacktivity Competition, earning him the Nightmare Power. The Nightmare Power allowed Ovi to nullify the nominations and send everyone to a new nomination ceremony, where the HOH would have to select 2 new nominees. The Nightmare Power could not be used after the POV ceremony.
In the middle of the night, Ovi overhead Tommy and Nick talking about their alliance of 8. So, he decided to do something about it. However, he only has vague information to go on. He goes to Analyse and tells her about his thoughts on relationships starting to form and people working together. Later, Ovi goes to Jack Matthews, Jackson Michie, Analyse, and Christie to form a tight alliance of 5. Unbeknownst to Ovi, all of them are in the alliance of 8 he overheard Nick and Tommy talking about.
Sam Smith won the POV that week and used it to save his friend Cliff Hogg III. Needing a replacement nominee, Ovi was the natural choice for Christie.
Ovi knew he was likely the target and had some campaigning to do. As part of his campaign, he went to Jack and Michie and told them about his Nightmare Power. He offered to use it to save them if they were nominated for eviction should they keep him safe. In the end, all it really did was make them want to evict him more so they could eliminate the power. Ovi was banished to Camp Comeback in a 12-0 vote. Ovi was evicted for good on Day 30 when he failed to win the Camp Comeback Competition.
Ovi’s move is checks in at No. 3 in our countdown of Big Brother’s dumbest moves because he made not 1 but 2 monumental mistakes. His first mistake was telling members of Gr8ful he knew of their alliance. That is what put the target on his back in the first place. You have to cut him some slack though because only had vague information to go off of.
What really cements his place in the Hall of Dumb is telling Michie and Jack about his Nightmare Power. When you tell people about your secret power, it decreases the advantage significantly and puts a target on your back. Michie and Jack knew how dangerous it was and knew they needed to get rid of it, so they did.
Which dumb move checks in at No. 2? Stay tuned to find out!
