With the 2010s nearly over, we decided to take a look back at every season of Big Brother we had this decade. In our look back, we decided to rank our 6 dumbest moves of the 2010s.

With the 2010s nearly over, we decided to reflect on every season of Big Brother that took place this decade. We knew that several dumb moves had been made over the years. With this in mind, we decided to rank the 6 dumbest moves of the decade. This will include both the Celebrity and Over the Top versions of Big Brother. Our 6th dumbest move is Bayleigh Dayton misplaying her power app, leading to her eviction.

No. 6: Bayleigh reveals her power app, leading to her eviction

The main twist of Big Brother 20 was the app store. The houseguest who was the most trending got a power app, giving them an advantage in the game. The last trending houseguest got a crap app and received a punishment.

In week 3, Bayleigh was the most trending houseguest, receiving the power app. She chose the Identity Theft app which allowed her to secretly replace the HOH’s nominations with 2 of their own. She would be able to use it until there were only 8 houseguests remaining.

In week 5, Bayleigh won HOH and nominated Brett Robinson and Rachel Swindler for eviction, with the intention of evicting Brett. In an attempt to gain Rachel’s trust that she would not be the target, Bayleigh told Rachel of her power app. Naturally, Rachel told the remaining members of her Level 6 alliance about the power app. Rachel ended up being blindsided by her own alliance that week in a 5-4 vote.

The following week, Angela Rummans won HOH and nominated Angela “Rockstar” Lantry and Scottie Salton for eviction. Haleigh Broucher won the new H@cker Competition that week. With her new H@cker power, Haleigh took Scottie off the block and replaced him with Tyler. She also blocked Tyler’s eviction vote and picked Kaycee Clark to play in the POV Competition.

However, Angela won the POV that week and used it to save Tyler. Knowing Bayleigh was the likely target because of her power app, Haleigh called a house meeting and revealed she was the hacker. However, all this did was lead to a fight between Tyler and Bayleigh. Bayleigh was named the replacement nominee and evicted 6-1. The only vote to save Bayleigh came from Samantha “Sam” Bledsoe.

This checks in at No. 6 for one simple reason: if you have a secret power, you don’t tell anyone about it. That’s the number one rule of Big Brother or Survivor. If people know about it, the advantage decreases significantly because people can plan around it. That is exactly what happened to Bayleigh and to a lesser extent, Haleigh. Once Level Six found out about her power app, they were able to successfully backdoor her and take the advantage out of the game entirely.
