With the year nearly over, we decided to take a look back at the 2 seasons of Big Brother we had this year. In our look back, we decided to rank our 10 greatest players of the year.

With 2019 almost over, we decided to reflect on the 2 seasons of Big Brother that took place this year. We realized we had several good players over the course of the year. With this in mind, we decided to rank the 10 best players of the year. This will cover both Celebrity Big Brother 2 and Big Brother 21. Checking in at No. 9 is Christie Murphy.

No. 9: Christie Murphy

People aren’t going to want to hear this, but Christie was pretty good at Big Brother.  Just try to forget about the controversy she was embroiled in during the season while reading this article and look at her game moves. She was in power early and had a big influence on the pre-jury portion of the game. Even when her power started to wane during the jury phase of the game, she was still able to stay around for quite some time.

Christie started off Big Brother 21 in a very strong position. She was part of the Gr8ful alliance and she had her real-life friend Tommy Bracco in the house with her. This allowed her to remain safe until week 7. Beginning with week 7, she was nominated for eviction 5 consecutive times before finally being evicted in week 10 on the backend of the double eviction.

Christie was the first Head of Household of Big Brother 21 and she nominated Cliff Hogg III and Kathryn “Kat” Dunn for eviction. After Sam Smith won the Power of Veto, he used it to save Kat. Christie named Ovi Kabir the replacement nominee. Ovi had tried to form an alliance to target her Gr8ful alliance. However, the people he told about the big alliance were members of Gr8ful.

In week 3, Christie won the Panic Whacktivity earning her the Panic Power. This allowed her to turn someone’s Golden Power of Veto into the Diamond Power of Veto at one of the next couple of Power of Veto ceremonies.

Later in the week, Christie was one of the people who spearheaded the Six Shooters alliance with the intention of targeting Cliff. Christie had overheard Cliff’s strategy talk earlier in the week in which Cliff said he wanted to go after the couples. Their Gr8ful allies Nick Maccarone, Isabella “Bella” Wang had wanted to target Nicole Anthony after a bullying incident earlier in the week.

Christie’s plan to evict Cliff backfired when he won the Camp Comeback Competition and later, Head of Household. Cliff nominated Jack Matthews and Jackson Michie for eviction that week. Once Michie won the Power of Veto, Cliff considered the possibility of naming Christie the replacement nominee. However, Cliff made a deal with Christie to keep Christie off the block and not have her use the Panic Power against him. As a result, Bella was named the replacement nominee and ultimately evicted in an 8-2 vote.

In week 7, Christie was one of 3 players selected to participate in America’s Field Trip alongside Michie and Analyse Talavera. Despite Analyse’s attempt to throw the competition, Christie lost the Competition and was named a special 3rd nominee. However, Tommy won the Power of Veto and used it to save Christie.

The following week, she was nominated again. This time she was up against Analyse. Christie was HOH Michie’s target going into the week. However, the infamous Taco Tuesday fight between Christie and Nick began to turn the tides. Christie used it to her advantage and made a deal with Michie and Holly that allowed Michie and Holly to use her as a pawn in future weeks.

In week 9, she was nominated for the 3rd straight week. This time, by America’s Prankster Nick Maccarone. She was up against Nick for eviction. However, she stayed in a unanimous vote.

She survived a 4th week on the block in week 10, this time against Jessica Milagros. On the back end of a double eviction in week 10, she was nominated alongside Tommy. She was evicted in a 3-0 vote.

Christie checks in at No. 9 for her ability to stay off the block as long as she did and then, when she did go on the block, the deals she was able to make to keep herself safe. Christie was nominated for eviction 5 straight times and survived the first 4 times. That is not the easiest thing to do.
