In light of Celebrity Big Brother being left off CBS’ schedule, we thought we would take a trip down memory lane. We are going to be ranking all Celebrity Big Brother houseguests from 23 to 1. Today we will take a look at No. 1: Tamar Braxton.

When CBS released their midseason schedule, there was a notable absence from it: Celebrity Big Brother. This has led to speculation that the series has been cancelled. It really is a shame because it provided fans some entertainment in the black hole known as the Big Brother offseason. With this in mind, we decided to rank the houseguests from 23 to 1. Checking in at No. 1 on our list is Tamar Braxton from Season 2.

No. 1: Tamar Braxton

Tamar came into the game with a grudge against fellow housemate Kandi Burruss over things that happened outside the real world. However, the two were able to settle their differences and work together after a rocky start to the season.

Tamar was able to stay safe for the first cycle, despite a crazy whirlwind of events that saw 5 houseguests nominated over the course of the cycle. During this time, she helped take out Jonathan Bennett.

In the second cycle, Kato Kaelin won HOH and nominated Tamar alongside Dina Lohan. However, his true target was Ryan Lochte. When Tom Green won the POV that week, he used it to save Dina and Ryan was named the replacement nominee. At the live eviction, Ryan was evicted in a 6-1 vote. The lone vote to evict Tamar came from Joey Lawrence.

Also, at the live eviction, a new power was put up for grabs called Power of the Publicist. This power would be awarded to the person who received the most votes from Celebrity Big Brother fans. The Power of the Publicist allowed its holder to remove themselves from the chopping block at one of the next two POV ceremonies. It would automatically expire after the Day 20 POV ceremony. Tamar won the Power of the Publicist over Joey.

In the third cycle, Tom nominated Joey and Kandi for eviction, with the intention of evicting Joey. This meant Tamar’s Power of the Publicist would not come into play that cycle. Natalie Eva Marie won the POV that cycle and kept nominations the same. Joey was evicted in a 6-0 vote.

In the fourth cycle, Tamar won HOH. This rendered her Power of the Publicist useless. She would no longer be able to use it after this cycle and as HOH she didn’t need to use it. Tamar nominated Kato and Tom for eviction, with the intention of splitting them up. Lolo Jones won the POV that cycle and chose not to use it. Kato was evicted 5-0.

Tamar was able to stay safe during the fifth cycle as well. During this time, she helped take out Natalie.

At the back end of Day 24’s double eviction, there was a special safety competition. The winner would earn safety during the back end of the double eviction but be ineligible to compete for HOH. Tamar won the competition. This cycle, Tamar helped take out Tom.

At the final 5, Tamar remained safe once again. However, she ended up on the wrong side of the eviction vote. The vote came back 1-1 with Tamar voting to evict Dina and Lolo voting to evict Kandi. Ricky Williams broke the tie as HOH and voted to evict Kandi.

At the final 4, Tamar was able to convince Ricky to take her to the final 2 with him. Ricky won HOH that cycle and Tamar, Dina, and Lolo were all nominated by default. Ricky chose to take Tamar with him to the final 2, evicting Dina and Lolo in the process. Tamar won Celebrity Big Brother 2 in a 9-0 vote.

Tamar’s win was history in the making. She became the first African-American to win Big Brother in the United States. She was also the second person in Big Brother US history to win in a unanimous vote. The other was Dan Gheesling in Big Brother 10. For that historic win, her strong gameplay, and ability to settle real world beef with fellow houseguest, she checks in at No. 1 on our countdown.
