Now that Big Brother until next year, it’s time to take a look back at the season that was. Earlier, we took a look at the cast’s best moves. Now we are reflecting on the cast of Big Brother 21’s worst moves. The next person we will take a look at is Jack Matthews.

Jack Matthews was the first member of the jury in Big Brother 21. Unfortunately, Jack’s time in the game was marred by accusations of racism, hate, and bullying against him. He was confronted with his remarks upon his eviction.

Jack started off Big Brother 21 strong, forming an immediate bromance with Jackson Michie. The bromance led to an alliance of 8 called “Gr8ful.” Jack was viewed as the ringleader of Gr8ful along with Michie. Through his alliance, he was able to stay safe for the first 3 weeks of the game. Soon after this alliance formed, Jack fell in love with Analyse Talavera and the two became a showmance.

In week 2, Jack won HOH and nominated Jessica Milagros and his nemesis in the house Kemi Fakunle. He also won the Chaos Power which allowed him to initiate a re-do of the Power of Veto draw if he didn’t like who was picked. He successfully got his target, Kemi evicted in an 11-1 vote.

In week 3, Jack helped spearhead the Six Shooters alliance. The Six Shooters then blindsided former allies Sam Smith, Nick Maccarone, and Isabella “Bella” Wang by evicting Cliff Hogg III.

After Cliff returned and won HOH, Jack found himself nominated alongside Michie. Michie then won the Power of Veto to save himself. Christie Murphy made a deal with Cliff to avoid having to use her Panic Power. Bella was nominated in Michie’s place and ultimately evicted in an 8-2 vote. The two votes to evict Jack came from Nick and Sam.

Jack was safe from eviction in week 5 thanks to the Six Shooters alliance. However, all hell broke loose on Day 44. Michie inadvertently let it slip that Holly Allen and Kathryn “Kat” Dunn knew each other. This caused Jack to lose trust in Michie and turn against him. Michie and Holly broke off from the Six Shooters while Jack formed a new alliance with Analyse Tommy Bracco, and Christie Murphy.

In week 6, Jack was nominated for eviction by HOH Jessica against his former ally Michie. Jessica then won the Power of Veto and left nominations the same. On eviction night, Jack became the first member of the jury after he was evicted in a 6-2 vote.

Jack’s worst moves of Big Brother 21

Jack’s worst move was coming on so strong out of the gate. If you’re a big physical guy like Jack, the best thing you can do to help your chances is to lay low strategically. Jack didn’t win very many comps but he was one of the leaders of Gr8ful/Six Shooters. That helped put a massive target on his back. It also didn’t help Jack that the outsiders hated him because of the way he talked to people. If you’re a big, physically strong guy, take notes from Jack if you are looking for a lesson in how not to win Big Brother.
