It’s that time of the year. It is the most highly anticipated night of the season. The night where big moves tend to be made (not always though). That’s right, it’s double eviction night on Thursday’s episode of Big Brother! So what can you expect on a double eviction? Well, let us explain.

At the end of last Thursday’s live eviction episode of Big Brother, host Julie Chen-Moonves announced that this week’s eviction would be a double eviction. The double eviction has led to the downfalls of big-time player in past seasons. This season doesn’t really have any big-time players, but we’re hoping that the closest thing to a big-time player will be evicted at the back end of the double eviction on Thursday.

What can you expect in the double eviction?

For those of you who are new to the show, an entire week’s worth of Big Brother game play happens in one night in the double eviction episode. So, once the first person is evicted it will be a whirlwind of events. The Head of Household Competition, nomination ceremony, Power of Veto Competition, Power of Veto ceremony, and a second live eviction all in the span of less than one hour. By the end of the night, we will be down from 7 houseguests to 5.

During a double eviction, players who win Head of Household and the Power of Veto have a very limited time to make important decisions. This also means that those who have been nominated for eviction have the same limited time span to rally votes in their favor. For this reason, the biggest players are often the ones targeted in the double eviction. The double eviction has led to the downfall of some rather notable players in past seasons of Big Brother. This is the reason why fans often get excited for the double eviction. We don’t really have any big time players this year, but we can hope for the closest thing to a big time player to leave on the back end of the double eviction this year.
