Cliff Hogg III is a 53-year-old petroleum engineer from Houston, Texas. Can he overcome the age gap between him and the other houseguests to win the $500,000 prize?

There is one major thing that sticks out about Cliff Hogg III: His age. At 53 years old, Cliff is 22 years older than the next oldest houseguests. This could present a problem in the social game.

In his bio, Cliff says he is a fan of Derrick Levasseur and Vanessa Russo. However, he noted Russo whined too much when things didn’t go her way. As a result, Derrick is his all time favorite. Cliff says he likes logical, strategic gameplay.

Cliff says his strategy is to present himself as a loyal soldier to strong players. While doing this, he wants to create enough chaos or paranoia to have people pointing fingers at each other. He says he is willing to betray people as necessary in the end game to get to the finale.

Jeff Schroeder interviews Cliff Hogg III

Right away in his interview with Jeff, Cliff’s personality shines. You can tell he’s going to be fun. Cliff notes he has been watching the show since Big Brother 8. He hopes his stories and friendly nature will carry him until he can do his dirty deeds.

Cliff claims to be a strategic guy. He is the armchair quarterback (like what those of us bloggers do) saying he could’ve done things better.  He says he’s played every season in his head and won every time. This is his chance to play and put into action what he wants to do.

Cliff thinks his age may be his downfall. As a result, he says he is going to have to be careful going in to make sure he does not get targeted. Cliff does not think his kids watching will affect his gameplay. Cliff says he isn’t here to sell shirts online or be an Instagram celebrity, he’s here to win Big Brother.

Ika Wong interviews Cliff Hogg III

In his interview with Ika, Cliff says after he watched Big Brother 8, he got his wife hooked on Big Brother 9 and his kids a few years later. Cliff thinks he will be good at Big Brother because he is a charismatic guy.

Cliff thinks he will have to play more aggressively than he otherwise would because of his age. His strategy will be to find stronger players who want to play the game early. He plans to go them and play the loyal soldier card and use them as a meat shield. Cliff plans on being more cutthroat in the second half of the game.

Cliff is planning on going after the first Head of Household to force people to come to him. If that does not happen, he is relying on getting in with people who want to play early.

He says there are several past houseguests whose personalities rubbed him the wrong way. They include Jen Johnson (Big Brother 8), Rachel Reilly (Big Brother 12 and 13). He says he likes Vanessa Russo and Eric Stein (Big Brother 8) but really admires Ian Terry (Big Brother 14). Cliff says the mistake he wants to avoid most is being too loyal to people.

What are the chances that Cliff Hogg will win Big Brother 21?

The biggest thing Cliff is going to have to overcome is the age gap. I don’t see him being a huge threat in the competitions. If he can fit in with the houseguests, he should have a solid social game. I see this going one of two ways with Cliff. Either he is going to be the first person out or he makes a very deep run.

Ultimately, I think Cliff will unfortunately be our first person evicted. I see him having a harder time fitting in with houseguests who are much younger than him. Hopefully Cliff proves me wrong and lasts awhile because he seems like a lot of fun.
