Nicole Franzel & Victor Arroyo made a big comeback in last week’s episode of The Amazing Race 31. They moved up from 5th place to 2nd place. This week, the third double u-turn of the race lies ahead. This could mean trouble for Nicole & Victor as they are the last non-Amazing Race team left.

Last week on The Amazing Race 31, Nicole & Victor started off the leg in 5th place. However, after some airport drama involving Becca & Floyd (Team Fun), it looked like Nicole & Victor would be left behind. However, Nicole & Victor took a gamble on a flight that paid off. They ended up arriving to Split, Croatia in 3rd place.

In the end, Amazing Race team Tyler Oakley & Korey Kuhl won their 4th consecutive leg after beating Nicole & Victor in a dinghy paddle race. Tyler & Korey set an Amazing Race record nine career first place finishes with this win. Survivor’s last remaining team, Chris Hammons & Bret LaBelle, struggled at the detour. As a result, they came in last and were eliminated.

Now, five teams remain in The Amazing Race 31. Leo Temory & Jamal Zadran (The Afghanimals), Colin Guinn & Christie Woods, Tyler & Korey, Team Fun, and Nicole & Victor. This week, teams head to Kampen, Netherlands.  In the Netherlands, teams will encounter the 3rd double u-turn of the Race. This is the first time in The Amazing Race history there has been three double u-turns.

On the last double u-turn, Colin & Christie and Rachel Reilly & Elissa Reilly Slater were u-turned. The u-turn helped lead to Rachel & Elissa’s elimination.

Previews for this week’s episode show Nicole & Victor pole vaulting over a ditch. Victor gets it on the first try, but Nicole was struggling. The pole-vaulting task has appeared twice on The Amazing Race before. The first appearance was in The Amazing Race 12 and the other was in The Amazing Race 21.

Another preview for this leg show the teams riding an odd tandem bike to an unknown location. The preview also reveals the leg was run on Nicole’s birthday.
