Celebrity Big Brother 3: Is CBS going to pick up the new season?

Celebrity Big Brother 3 would take place during winter 2020 if CBS decides that it’s worth airing another season of the reality competition series.

Celebrity Big Brother 3 still hasn’t been picked up by CBS, despite a lot of other shows being announced for next year. That doesn’t mean it won’t still happen, but CBS hasn’t given it the public green light just yet.

It’s possible that the network wants to keep the attention on Big Brother 21, which is going to debut at the end of June. The official schedule indicates that the premiere will take place on Tuesday, June 25.

This past January and February, a new group of celebrities was inside the BB house. Some of the names in the cast included Joey Lawrence, Tom Green, and Ricky Williams. In the end, it was Tamar Braxton who was named the latest Celebrity Big Brother winner.

The ratings for CBS were pretty good during the short season. Viewers were still tuning in, even though there were some complaints about the choices for the CBB2 cast. It sets the bar for what viewers want to see in the future, but some of those requests might be too expensive.

Celebrity Big Brother 3 on CBS

There are a lot of athletes, reality show participants, and lower level actors and actresses who would love a shot to play the game. From that viewpoint, the producers and casting director should have an easy time finding people who want to do it.

The biggest question is whether fans of the show will be able to get behind future celebrities. It’s never easy to predict who might end of being a fan-favorite, and there weren’t many people predicting online that it would be Tamar Braxton taking home the cash prize this past winter.

There is still a lot of time until January 2020 rolls around, so it isn’t that important for CBS to announce that the show is coming back. The most difficult part in the decision-making process will be whether or not CBS has enough time slots for all the Celebrity Big Brother 3 episodes. If it does, and the network can keep costs low, fans should expect another season.
