Big Brother Season 21: Show is ready for return in summer 2019

Big Brother Season 21 has already been announced by CBS. This is good news for the longevity of the reality competition show, even though there isn’t a lot of additional information to go with it yet.
During the final week of the summer 2018 season, casting for Big Brother Season 21 began. It was even mentioned by host Julie Chen Moonves during the show, noting that applications were being accepted to become a member of the BB21 cast. It’s a big deal because it means that the show is coming back for another summer run on the network. It’s also a hint about new contestants.

There haven’t been many hints about the BB21 cast, other than the obvious connotations that applications tend to mean new people. For the BB20 cast, producers put 16 new people in the game, ending a string of seasons with returners inside the BB house.
There could already be ideas in place for themes about the summer 2019 season or if there are plans to include any returning people. That information is getting kept under wraps for now, clearing the way for conjecture among fans and for Celebrity Big Brother to take the spotlight.

When is Big Brother Season 21 premiere?
This would only be a guess, but the show typically begins at the end of June. This would make it pretty easy to air the first episode on Wednesday, June 26. CBS could follow that up with another episode on Thursday, June 27, making it a two-night premiere for the BB21 cast. These are all just guesses, though, based on how producers have done things the past few years.
As for when the BB21 cast announcement gets made, that would likely be the prior week. That would allow time for the producers to sequester them, to start up the advertisements including the new people, and to begin filming them in the house. Typically, the houseguests start playing the game during the weekend before the season premiere. That’s done to make sure enough footage is collected for the first episode.

There is still a lot of time before the Big Brother Season 21 premiere takes place, but it’s not too soon to get excited about Celebrity Big Brother 2. CBS has released a full schedule of episodes, which could make January and February pretty busy months for viewers of the show. If host Julie Chen Moonves returns to the show, expect a lot of posts on her Twitter account as the big day gets closer.
