Celebrity Big Brother commercials confusing some CBS viewers

The current Celebrity Big Brother commercials are advertising a new season of the show on CBS. But by showing older footage, some television viewers think it’s a new cast.

CBS is running a Celebrity Big Brother commercial all the time, now, gearing up fans for the winter installment. A problem has surfaced, though, as some potential viewers think that Shannon Elizabeth, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Omarosa, and Chuck Liddell are taking part. They aren’t. That quartet played on the first season of the show, which aired last winter. People are even posting thoughts about Ron Artest participating in the reality competition.

The new Celebrity Big Brother cast

CBS still hasn’t announced who is going to be on the new cast list. There will be a new group of celebrities playing the game, with the season getting started in January 2019. The CBB USA start date is on Monday, January 21, but no names have been officially revealed. Thus, the network is relying on past footage to create buzz.

None of the celebrities on the current commercial or in the YouTube video will be taking part in the show this winter. Die-hard fans of the show already know this, but that isn’t the case for all CBS viewers. Instead, it has generated some interest to see people like Shannon Elizabeth or Ron Artest (he now goes by Metta World Peace) participating in the show.

The old CBB USA cast

In February 2018, 11 celebrities played the game on CBS. The show aired as a way for the network to compete with the Winter Olympics on NBC. The season ran for roughly three weeks, with an alliance led by Ross Mathews and Marissa Jaret Winokur dominating the cast. Ross and Marissa made it to the final two, with the BB Celeb jury naming Marissa as the winner.

In a few weeks, the new cast will get revealed by CBS. That’s when new footage will begin showing up online and on television, but, until then, it’s just going to be older footage that highlights some of the drama and competitions. Episodes from Season 1 can still be viewed, in fact, they can be binge-watched now.

For potential new viewers, the reality competition revolves around a group of people living together in a house and trying to make it through a season without getting evicted. The winner takes home a cash prize, making it a very competitive environment. Stay tuned, because very soon, the second season Celebrity Big Brother cast list will finally be ready for consumption.
