Celebrity Big Brother 2: CBS commercials starting up for winter show

Celebrity Big Brother 2 was heavily promoted during the Season 37 finale of Survivor. It seems that CBS is ready to get people excited about the next winter installment.

The huge ending of the Survivor season had to make room for another one of the CBS reality competition shows. On Wednesday night (December 19), CBS started heavily advertising for Celebrity Big Brother 2. During each hour of the three-hour Survivor presentation, CBS rolled out a commercial about the next season of Big Brother. It follows up an earlier revelation of the full CBS winter schedule for the hit reality competition show. It also created a lot of buzz on social media.

Celebrity Big Brother 2018 recap

There were 11 celebrities invited to play inside the BB house last winter. It was a change in format for the show, as the first 21 seasons (including the online season) revolved around having regular people. Going up against the Winter Olympics on NBC in winter 2018, producers thought it was time to try out the celebrities.

As shown in the video above, there were some recognizable faces that competed last season. There has been some debate among fans about just how famous this cast of 11 people was, but they have all been involved in the entertainment industry. That includes Metta World Peace playing in the NBA, Omarosa starring on The Apprentice, and Marissa Jaret Winokur being on Broadway.

Marissa and Ross dominate the game

During the season, a very strong alliance was formed that had Marissa and Ross Mathews as the leaders. The group of four celebrities worked hard to get to the end, but it was Marissa and Ross who appeared in front of the celebrity jury to be judged. The celebrities voted for Marissa to be the first US Celebrity Big Brother winner, putting Ross in second place. Ross was also named America’s Favorite Houseguest by the viewers.

No cast members have been revealed for Celebrity Big Brother 2, but it’s very clear that CBS is trying to increase the level of interest. Having three full-length commercials during the Survivor finale was a great way to get people on board. That might be the first step toward promotion for the show, which hopefully leads to a cast list getting revealed to the viewers very soon.
