Big Brother UK, Celebrity Big Brother UK hinted at returning
By Ryan Gamble
Big Brother UK and Celebrity Big Brother UK recently got canceled. Has the series now been saved? Or is one of the hosts just teasing fans because he wants it to happen?
Low ratings caused Channel 5 to cancel Big Brother UK and Celebrity Big Brother UK, disappointing a lot of fans and the people behind the show. That included Big Brother’s Bit On The Side host Rylan Clark-Neal and main show host Emma Willis, who have been very vocal about wanting the show to come back. The rumors had indicated that other networks were in talks with the people behind the show.
Ryan Clark-Neal hints at Big Brother UK return
Taking to his Twitter account, Ryan Clark-Neal made a post that has thrown social media into a bit of a tizzy. He already has 262 retweets and 2,866 likes for a simple post that he made on November 29. In it, he says that “Big Brother is always watching…. [sic].”

So what does this mean? It could mean that a new network has decided to breathe new life into the reality competition show. Before Channel 5 took on the show in 2011, it had been shown by Channel 4 to the local audiences. Though the ratings haven’t been spectacular, there are definitely die-hard fans of the program that would follow it to a third network.
Maybe Clark-Neal is just teasing fans of the show?
Since he hasn’t really given a follow-up to his cryptic tweet, it’s entirely possible that Clark-Neal was just trying to spark more interest in the show. If it comes back, and producers want to keep the two main hosts in their current jobs, it would mean he has a paying gig again. This is motivation enough to try to get the buzz going again and to show the bosses at several networks that it would be worth saving the program.
As of the publishing of this post, there has been no announcement or hint at an announcement from producers behind Big Brother UK or Celebrity Big Brother UK. This doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t happen at some point, but fans will have to be patient. If Ryan Clark-Neal has some secret information about the future of the show, he isn’t elaborating. Yet.
The success of the UK version of the show helped spawn one in the US, which has just announced its premiere date for Season 2.
