Kevin Schlehuber from Big Brother 19 recovering from cancer surgery
By Ryan Gamble
Kevin Schlehuber was a Big Brother 19 cast member who played on the same season as Josh Martinez and Paul Abrahamian. He posted on social media about going through cancer surgery.
During the Big Brother 19 season of 2017, Kevin Schlehuber finished in fourth place. This was due to a final three alliance that Paul Abrahamian, Josh Martinez, and Paul Abrahamian had. Recently, though, Kevin shared on social media that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The fan-favorite also updated his fans on Instagram this week, posting that he had gone through cancer surgery. It looks like he received a lot of good news from the process.
Early prognosis good for Kevin Schlehuber
Kevin states that his prognosis “looks good” following the surgery. He went on to relay that he will have to see the doctor more times, that he had to have 26 staples in his stomach, and that he wanted to thank everyone for their support. “I am so grateful for God, my Family, all of you for the support and love I’ve received [sic].”

Kevin is right about the outpouring of support he has received. As of the publishing of this post, his Instagram update has received 18,671 likes. That number is expected to go even higher this evening. It’s also important to spread the message that he shared on his Instagram feed, which is the importance of staying educated about cancer and that a simple checkup can make all the difference.
Kevin on Big Brother 19
While he was on the reality competition show, Kevin gained a lot of fans from the Big Brother community. He always had amusing anecdotes, stories, or interpretations from what was going on in the game that made him an extremely entertaining houseguest. He made it pretty far in the game and had he found a way to win that final four Head of Household Competition, could have really made a dent in the season finale.
There is still a long road ahead for Kevin Schlehuber, but this is great news and a major step toward beating cancer.
