Celebrity Big Brother not canceled, despite online rumors

Celebrity Big Brother has not been canceled by CBS. There had been a number of Celebrity Big Brother rumors, but that information stems from what is taking place in Britain.

A lot of bad news for reality competition fans has been coming out in the UK recently. Channel 5, which had covered both versions of Big Brother, came down with the announcement that the show would not be returning. Having Celebrity Big Brother UK canceled is a big hit for fans, but this is also just the United Kingdom version of the show. Fans in the United States don’t need to be stressed about it.

When does Celebrity Big Brother US return?

The season premiere hasn’t been announced yet, but the assumption is that the first episode will take place in January or February. Host Julie Chen Moonves and CBS have hinted heavily that the season is still coming, even if there hasn’t been a lot of casting news. More promotion will likely get done as the season approaches this winter.

A lot of viewers have posted on social media about the need for good cast members to enter the house this winter. While the first season in the US ended up delivering nice ratings for CBS, there were a number of houseguests that didn’t really want to be there. Missing family members turned into houseguests quitting, shaking up strategies and taking away a lot of the early energy that the show had built up.

Potential CBB USA cast members?

Host Julie Chen Moonves has suggested some people she would like to see play the game. It has helped spur discussion on social media about who fans would like to see inside the BB house, even though nobody close to production has hinted at new cast members yet. It would certainly be exciting if a big-name celebrity decided to give it a try, but it’s a lot of time to sacrifice and be away from the outside world.

The Celebrity Big Brother season finale hasn’t been announced for the official CBS schedule just yet. When the network reveals its mid-season schedule, that is when it is likely that the CBB USA schedule will become public knowledge. Until then, that gives fans plenty of time to debate about who should be a member of the cast.
