Big Brother 2018: Producers need committed cast

Following up on the first season of Celebrity Big Brother, producers of the reality competition show need a Big Brother 2018 cast that cares about being in the house.

The Big Brother 2018 season already has a lot of positive buzz on social media. Maybe this is because Celebrity Big Brother recently came to an end, or maybe fans are just excited for the show to get rolling again this summer.  Either way, producers are faced with the task of putting together an interesting cast. But this time, specific attention has to be placed on getting cast members who can survive the Big Brother house.

Celebrities couldn’t cope with the show

Viewers who tuned in to the first season of Celebrity Big Brother saw a common theme. Many of the celebrities couldn’t cope with being away from their families. Excuses can be made about why this was the case, but it created a situation where too many people wanted to quit the show. That aspect of the CBB cast took away some enjoyment from viewers. Rather than watching strategies play out, each week was a countdown to someone else quitting.

This is a test for the Big Brother 20 cast. Producers need roughly 18 people who want to stay in the Big Brother house all summer. Nobody would claim this is an easy show, but having a commitment for the full summer is a huge positive. A committed cast is a big deal. It would lead to better ratings, which is what CBS wants to see anyway. It would also help the show recover from having several celebrities who didn’t really understand the game.

When does Big Brother 2018 begin?

Big Brother 20 begins early this summer. The exact season premiere date will come out later. For now, the expectation is that the BB20 cast enters the house at the end of June. A lot of time remains for CBS to promote the new season of the show. Will there be a theme? Will former houseguests return? Many questions remain unanswered. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. But producers just need to make sure the new Big Brother 2018 cast wants to play all summer.
